The third annual Performance Studies Conference took place at the Sheraton Colony Square hotel in Atlanta, Georgia on April 10-13, 1997. Approximately two hundred fifty academics, critics and artists met to discuss issues pertaining to the role of technology in the context of performance studies.
The conference was hosted by the Department of Performance Studies at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University and The School of Literature, Communication & Culture at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Co-sponsors included the Speech Communications Association from the Arizona State University, University of Michigan Press, CUNY Graduate Center, Tulane University and Kennesaw State University.
